There is a second very popular VTVM book; Vacuum Tube Voltmeters, published by Rider. First printed in , a second edition dating from is also known to exist. There are only a few things keeping this book from being ‘the Bible’. Vacuum-tube voltmeter definition is - a voltmeter employing vacuum tubes and useful because of its very high input impedence for measurements in circuits (as vacuum-tube circuits) from which only very small currents can be drawn without altering the voltages being measured.

Vacuum tube voltmeters or valve voltmeters (VTVM, VVM) were used for voltage measurements in electronic circuits where high input impedance was necessary. The VTVM had a fixed input impedance of typically 1 MΩ or more, usually through use of a cathode follower input circuit, and thus did not significantly load the circuit being tested.

The vacuum tube increases the sensitivity of the voltmeter because of which it can detect the signal of very weak strength. The electronic voltmeter is used for measuring the voltage of direct, RMS and peak voltage of the system.

The vacuum tube has many advantages like they have high input impedance, wide frequency range and high sensitivity. Full text of "Heathkit V 4 Vacuum Tube Voltmeter (manual)" See other formats May,Practical VTVM VACUUM TUBE VOLTMETERS, A Book by John F.
